Juli & Jim

About Us

Jim & I met through an on-line dating site (yes, they really can work) about 4 years ago. I knew right away that he was something special. He planned every detail of our first date with things he knew I liked, or things we had talked about over the weeks we were communicating. It was a night at the Drive-In movies, with take out food and a cooler full of Corona. We saw Shrek the Third and Blades of Glory (not with out a few awkward moments in THAT movie). It wasn’t until a few years later that we found out that Jim’s parents first date was at that same Drive-In movie theater.

Despite crazy work schedules, frequent business trips and just typically busy lives, we always made time for each other, meeting each other’s friends and family and sharing great memories. Jim even became an honorary Fidelity traveler, he accompanied me on so many business trips.

Although I had been “secretly” hoping for the engagement, it was a surprise. The day after Hurricane Earl hit (Sept 4th), Jim asked if I wanted to go for a walk on “our beach”, a private beach on the Sakonnet/ Atlantic estuary near our house. When we got to the point where we couldn’t walk any further, due to the high tide, I said “Should we turn around and go home?”, and he said “OK, but I have a really important question to ask you”. And he proposed.

I could not be happier to officially be joining our lives and our families! I tell people all the time how lucky I am to have found such a great guy, but I guess he’s pretty lucky too.

I hope you can all join us to celebrate our special day! It’s been a long time coming, but the best things come to those who wait!
